About Cleopas

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
(Proverbs 127:4-5 NIV)

8499967Cleopas is the pen name for the adventurer/blogger on The Emmaus Raod Trip. Raised in a God fearing home, Cleopas always believed in a sovereign being, but did not understand God’s sacrifice and the debt Jesus paid on his behalf until age twenty. Shortly after coming to this knowledge he responded to a call to preach.

Over the past 30 years Cleopas has been a Church Planter (twice), Pastor, (in both rural and urban settings) Evangelism Seminar Leader and Executive Director of a Compassionate Ministry Center, serving homeless men in recovery from alcohol and substance abuse. He is a cofounder of a day time program designed to connect sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons with a myriad of services in a single location. He has served on a number of local and statewide committees addressing issues of homelessness, economic self-sufficiency and suicide prevention. Together with his wife they raised six children, homeschooling them in an effort to provide the best education with a clear Christian context. They also provided foster care to six additional children. God has further blessed him with seven wonderful grandchildren thus far.
